Carbon Fibre Masculinity: Disability and Gendered Surfaces in Late Modernity

Hickey-Moody, Anna. (2015). Angelaki: Journal of Theoretical Humanities. 20.
10.1080/0969725X.2015.1017394.

Abstract:

This article examines material economies of carbon fibre as a prosthetic form of masculinity. The paper advances three main arguments. Firstly, carbon fibre can be a site in which disability is overcome, an act of overcoming that is affected through masculinized technology. Secondly, carbon fibre can be a homosocial surface; that is, carbon fibre becomes both a surface extension of the self and a third-party mediator in homosocial relationships, a surface that facilitates intimacy between men in ways that devalue femininity in both male and female bodies. Carbon fibre surfaces are material extensions of subjectivity, and carbon fibre surfaces are vectors of the cultural economies of masculine competition. Thirdly, the article gives an account of Oscar Pistorius as an example of the masculinization of carbon fibre, and the associated binding of a psychic attitude of misogyny and power to a form of violent and competitive masculine subjectivity. The paper unpacks the affects, economies and surfaces of “carbon fibre masculinity” and discusses Pistorius’ use of carbon fibre, homosociality and misogyny as forms of protest masculinity through which he unconsciously attempted to recuperate his gendered identity from emasculating discourses of disability.

Who is Satan? Who is the Nachash? Who is Ahriman? Who is the Lord of Light?

In the ancient Persian Zorostrian religion, their theogeny held that there were two gods that ruled the universe: Ahura Mazda, the “wise good Lord,” the lord of light, the lord of wisdom, the lord of mercy, and Angra Mainyu, sometimes spelled as Angra Mainyeh, also called Ahriman, the evil god.  They were twins.  The twin motif continues.  See our video on “Jesus the Twin.”

sat is the Proto Indo European word that is one of the oldest of all words.

सत् (sát) – Sanskrit – “being,” “to exist,” “to be,” “to occupy time with an ending.”

The core meaning of the word is to express life which is limited in duration.

It proceeds into the Germanic and then English to mean “sitting” to remain seated, and to be satiated, as in full.

In the Slavic it means “hour”, “time,” “clock.”

So who is Satan? And why am I using Indo European for something stemming from Semitic?

Simple. Much of the dialectical concepts that separate God into an evil and good god, which Christianity and Judaism do no matter how hard they try to deny it, both are inheritances of the Zoroastrian religion, which itself is a transformation of Vedic Hinduism.

And the people you can blame for all this nonsense are the East European/Russians because we now know from DNA study that Brahmin of India who were the “keepers” of the Vedas (which means in the Slavic “the leaders” – vediti or voditi – means “to lead”, which would be consistent with what “Slaven” means – “Glorious” “Legendary”) have a huge proportion of their DNA as R1a which is the only Caucasian haplo in the Indian population, and that’s the Slavic marker.

Most people believe Judaism is 5700 years old.

By its own accounts, Mt. Sinai happened around 1150 BCE, so that would make it 3200 years old.

In truth, Judaism as is codified in the earliest Torah is a development following the Babylonian Exile in the 5th century BCE.

So what do the other 5779–3200=2500 ish years represent?

Well, to the religious that’s the time since the creation of the world. How dumb some people are.

Yet, that timeline would set the “creation of the world” at around 3600 BCE.

Guess what happens in and around that time?

The first human script.

The world is created because God, as the neoplatonist Christianity would inform us, “in the beginning the word was with God, and the word was god.”

God “spake” the world into being.

God is “logos, logia,” logic, and dia-logos, dia-lectic, a lecture, learned, lettered, ligatures, location, lectern…

God is our ability to learn, to reason, to do mathematics, to write.

And who was it that created writing? Sumerians. Who was it that gave us our script? Phoenicians. Alpha, Beta, Aleph, Beth.

Channan and Abel – Yochannan/Channanbaal: Jonathan / Hannibal / “Channan of Yehowah” / Channan of Baal Hadad.

S-atan, N-atan.

In the Hebrew, Satan means “the accuser,” “the prosecutor,” but it is used as a personal name too.

Judaism borrows heavily from Indo-Aryan traditions that become Zoroastrian Persian religion, in which two gods battle it out – the evil god Ahriman also known as Angra MainYEH, and the good god, the “wise Lord of light” – look into the fire: lux/lucis + Ferro (the Bringer of Light) – Eosphoros, Phosphorous, the dawn bringer.

In Judaism, being a monotheistic religion, those two become one. But not quite. Because you see, although Isaiah 45:7 tells us that God does all, he creates light and darkness, war and peace, good and evil, it’s a strange concept until one realizes there is night and day, two arms, two legs, moon and sun: Jewish god is simply the amoral universe, nothing more. He is not a person. He is all.

Isaiah also tells us something else, “Cyrus my Meshiach, whom I have SURNAMED.” Angra MainYeh.

But he also had a she. Asherah, Bunny Lebowski, the love of his life. “What is man, Mr. Lebowski” (Leb or hleb is Polish for bread, ie bread of life.)

And so the Dude goes looking for Bunny, having been mistaken for someone associated with the rich man (Bohrishatva means “the rich man” which in the Slavic is “Bog”- God), even has the same last name, but the money was all mother’s from before.

The Feminine divine. Shekshina.

And the evil part of life is that we all die. That all our time is limited. “Time” being the key there.

Chronos was a titan in Greek mythology. But all the earliest Greek heroes come from where? Europa is daughter of Agenor, King of Tyre, of Canaan or Phoenicia. Who is Kadmus? Well Kadish/Kadmus was her brother, founder of Thebes.

He is Father of Semele/Zemlaya, “earth.” And Semele is the mother of whom? Dion-Ysus, Dionysus, God+Jesus, who, after being on earth for 9 months, was killed by Zeus’ thunderbolt (“And the skies opened and thundered throughout the land, as he uttered his last words – Eli Eli lema sabbachthani – or, My god my god, why have you foresaken me?” more correctly, Sabba-oth-chthani). Yehowah Tzva’ot. Anger of God. Angra MainYeh.

Sat-urn, then, is the aspect of God that judges us all ultimately, since we all die. He is the “reaper,” the “old man of Scythia,” the Sabaezius (Sabbaoth+Zeus) of the Thracians, the he who shouts “Iao, Iao, Iao” in the Eleusinian Mysteries of Demeter, for god collects what he has sewn, “there is a time and a season to every purpose,” “teach me how TO NUMBER MY DAYS, oh Lord,” 1–2–3–4–5–6–7, for on the Sabbath, Saturn-day, he eats all his children: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday… and the Christos resurrects on the Sun-day, and a new week begins.

He is the first and the last – Alpha and Omega – the Father, and the Time, no one comes to Saturday without being reborn on Sunday, of water, and of spirit, and going through him toward Saturday next. He is the way that directs forward, the truth (mathematics), and, yes, the life until the reaper collects it, the old man, the slow man, the Father, Son, and Grandson.

“There you are, oh beautiful light bringer, son of Semele, son of Zeus, (Agenor and Thalassea) (‘the oceans – Mare/Maris, “Maria” the seas), you of beautiful looks and new vintage, great god of returns.” (Homeric hymn to Dionysus).

On the 7th day of the month Bysios, having spent 3 months in a grave, after being struck by the thunderbolt of Zeus, Helios/Apollo (ie Paul of Tarsus) returned to the sunny hills of Delphi.

The Pythia, the great priestess of Apollo, ceremonially prepared by washing herself as a “baptyzmo” and a lamb was ceremonially slaughtered as a sacrifice.

The spring had returned, and life, zoe/Zeus, the holy spirit, impregnated the Cybele/Semele/Earth/Zemlaya having hovered above the waters of the deep, where the Seas, Mare/Maria, would bring new life to the resurrected Lord: Attis, Apollo, Dionysus, Jesus, until the Sat-an returns again, Yehowah Tzva’ot/Sabbaoth, the aspect of God that judges and punishes, “Lord of Armies” “Lord of Hosts.”

Good thing the British ended the practice of “Sati” in India in 1827 – the burning of widows on the funerary pyres of their dead husbands.

The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the one god who is born wisdom and anger, lunatic and lover, the deranged Demiurge.

During World War II, a Greek Orthodox Bishop refused to surrender the Jews to the Nazis. As a thanks, the Jews made a donation to the Church of St Dionysus.

“Oh what is man, that he should be blessed by the understanding of the gods, and the fate of beasts.” – Zarathustra.

Sometimes, the best we can do, is lie.

Gerald Massey & The Beginning of the End of God

No work has influenced academic understanding of religion as mythology as Gerald Massey’s 1828 lecture he delivered titled “On the Historicity of Jesus and the Myth of Christ.” At the time, these ideas were so controversial that Massey did not formulate a book – delivering it instead as a lecture to huddled groups of scholars and fans of ancient history, and most notably Egyptology.

Massey frames his views based on the recent decipherement of the Egyptian hieroglyphics, a few years earlier. He does what Campbell would later do more systematically, which is to recognize that the Hebrew system of the Old Testament was based on the Egyptian astral or cosmic mythology, that linked the sky and the earth, and he then deduces from it the “con” of the New Testament.

The lecture was later printed as a book. Not everything in this lecture is correct. But it is a good start for anyone looking to broaden their understanding of the con of religion and unshackle their man-made manacles.

Yours, as always, in the truth of Epicurus and Democritus, and in the pursuit of eternal truth,

Iannis Stamatakos

Omar Ibn Al-Khattab had an anal disease which could be cured only by semen

Did people in the medieval and ancient times know about STDs? If they did, how did they prevent and treat them?

No, humanity discovered definitively all germs, not just STI’s – only in 1860 when Pasteur proved germ theory.

Prior to that, some speculated microorganisms were causes of illness, but the vast majority of human history was spent believing ghosts, gods, spirits and other supernatural entities were the causes of illness.

Much quackery existed for the cure of these ailments – chiropractic being one that still survives. Prior to Pasteur, it speculated that misalignment of the spine blocked the energy flow from the brain. It developed its adjustments and other nonsense at that time.  However, as with all irrational beliefs, even though its founding theory was false, it reinvented itself following the emergence of medical science (only in the late 1800’s is it actually medical science) and remains around today, popping, clearing, adjusting, and making money on goobly-gook.

And as if that’s not sad enough, new quackeries have appeared since, such as naturopathic, homeopathic (that one is super hilarious and existed since the middle ages), blood analysis, and other forms of charlatanism continue booming – it is the sad character of this universe that people mourn for those they love and that we all get sick and die. Charlatanism is, however, not a feature we should permit and need to call it out whenever we can, as I do now.
